Honeywell showcases latest process control technology in six Saudi cities
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, March 11 - 2007 at 15:59
- PRESS RELEASE
Honeywell (NYSE:HON) recently conducted a series of roadshows in six cities across Saudi Arabia to showcase the latest process and control technology from Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS).
Led by a team of HPS' local and global experts, the roadshows featured product insights and hands-on demonstrations of the company's latest technology, including Honeywell's Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS) R300. The Experion® PKS platform can be used by HPS' Saudi customers to enhance productivity and profitability and maintain a long-term competitive advantage.
Experion® PKS customers in the Kingdom are supported by a local HPS service team, which is part of an extensive network of 400 Honeywell specialists and 90 industry experts located throughout the Middle East.
Honeywell is already working closely with top petrochemical organizations such as Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and Tasnee Petrochemicals to maximize productivity and improve return on investment. Early in 2006, Honeywell signed a $12-million agreement with SABIC to provide advanced process control and implementation services to the company's sites throughout the Kingdom. Later in the same year, Honeywell announced a $7-million contract to supply process and safety controls for Tasnee Petrochemicals' new ethylene plant in Saudi Arabia.
"Honeywell is committed to growing with existing and new customers in Saudi Arabia," said Larry Perkins, Regional General Manager of HPS, Middle East. "With our technology and team of experts in the Middle East, Honeywell can provide customers in the Kingdom with customized solutions that achieve strategic business objectives."
As part of its long-term strategy, Honeywell is also playing a role in developing the Kingdom's technical skills base through a number of education and training initiatives. Honeywell has established university relationships and programs in Saudi Arabia that include graduate hires and student internships. Through its Trainee Program, Honeywell hired eight graduate trainees in 2005 and doubled this figure in 2006.
"We aim to encourage the next generation of scientists, engineers and technologists toward increasing the pool of talented future innovators and business leaders from Saudi Arabia as well as the rest of the region," said Perkins.
The HPS roadshows began in Dhahran on 18 February and proceeded to Ras Tanura on 20 February, to Tanajib on 25 February, to Khafji on 27 February, to Jubail on 3 March and to Yanbu on 7 March.
