DAEX holds first workshop at Dubai Creek Golf Club for Revenue Managers who want to understand the functionality of DAEX and how it can benefit their properties.
The DAEX solution will enable the hospitality sector to better manage and maximize their revenue using the most up-to-date web based tool.

DAEX is an evolutionary web service allowing hotels to automate the management of their allocations from their property management system (PMS) directly with tour operators, corporates and wholesalers based on real time availability. DAEX has proven that it can save hoteliers up to 23% on the total cost of processing their reservations, whilst enabling tour operators and wholesalers to deliver an enhanced customer service.

The one-day event was aimed at addressing the essentials needed for a property to maximize its revenue through the various distribution channels it employs today. The workshop also provided an ideal opportunity for 15 revenue mangers representing different regional and global hotel chains operating in Dubai to participate in an interactive discussion on the challenges of revenue management in Dubai's market. Through detailed demonstrations they were shown how the DAEX system can support their channel management, improve the performance of the revenue system, and be a new tool for online marketing.

Neive Hunter - Regional Revenue Manager, |m|e|z|z|e| Associates, who boasts extensive international experience in revenue management, led the workshop and gave an in-depth presentation on up to date revenue management techniques and how the DAEX system worked to support some of these initiatives.

"Hotels are currently enjoying 80% -90% occupancy of rooms and hence they don't have to work very hard to fill their rooms as Dubai is one of the top 5 tourist destinations in the world. However, in 3 years time there will be more hotels on the market and therefore their share of the market will be diluted. Hotels then will have to work hard to fill their rooms, and revenue management is all about filling rooms and maximising revenue," said Hunter.

Simon Lewis - Manager eVentures Group, Emirates added: "This workshop is set to provide the participants with added value training and understanding of how revenue management works. The workshop is one of a series of informative events that DAEX is planning to organise in the upcoming months to promote and grow the deployment of DAEX as a must have for all participants in the hospitality industry."

DAEX was designed by Mercator - one of the global aviation industry's leading IT solutions supplier, and developed jointly with MICROS-Fidelio, the hospitality industry's leading provider of integrated software solutions - which caters to 99.7% of all five star and 60.2% of all four star hotel property management systems in Dubai. Due to its .Net architecture it can interface to other PMS that provide APIs.
