Dhaheer Quraish appointed General Manager of Financial Technologies Middle East

Dhaheer Quraish, an accomplished Emirati financial marketing and investment professional, has been appointed General Manager of Financial Technologies Middle East (FTME), a subsidiary of Financial Technologies (India) Ltd (FTIL).

FTME has proven expertise in providing automation solutions and services for the exchanges and their members for equities, derivatives, commodities and currencies markets. FTME also specializes in providing consultancy services to market participants for setting-up complete business framework, trading systems, order and risk management market information and settlement & clearing.

Speaking from India, Jignesh Shah, Chairman and Managing Director, FTIL, said that he was delighted to have an experienced UAE national as part of the senior management team of FTME. "Quraish will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to FTME. Quraish will assist Financial Technologies in its quest for new heights in empowering financial markets in the region," he added.

On his part, Arshad Khan, Director of FTME, said that he looked forward to receiving significant contribution from Quraish to tap the potential of the regional markets for FTME. "His drive, vision, amiable disposition and hands-on UAE experience in financial services sectors like banking & brokerage will be a real asset for the organization and its clients," concluded Khan.

A graduate from Arizona State University, Quraish has extensive experience in the banking and brokerage sector. He has held several important posts in several international banks and local brokerage houses. A well-known personality in the local investments and banking market, he constantly appears in the local media with his views on the stock markets.

Quraish started his banking career with a newly developed bank, Union Bank of the Middle East (UBME), which was later renamed Emirates Bank International. Subsequently, he worked with HSBC ME as Manager, Marketing and Product Development in-charge of the GCC and Levant. In July 1997 he joined Union National Bank to help develop its newly formed local investments department Union Securities in the Dubai and Northern Emirates Region.

His keen interest in technology helped him bring about technological sophistication at all the organizations he has served so far.
