The announcement came during the 3rd ABB Technical Seminar 2007 held recently at ABB Industries' premises in Al-Quoz Industrial Park.

EII also announced its alliance with ABB Industries LLC, the regional arm of the global leader in Power and Automation technologies, to provide technical and marketing support for the recently-established company. EII's industrial manufacturing expertise combined with ABB Industries' technical know-how is set to create a leading LV and MV assembly and distribution provider in the region.

Speaking at the ABB Technical Seminar, Dr. Ahmad Khayyat, CEO of EII, said: "We are expanding our portfolio of premium manufacturing businesses in the UAE and the region through a new venture that will mark our entry into the Power and Automation sector. In ABB Industries, we have found a strongly established partner in power and automation technologies with integral emphasis on technology and the development of unique power solutions."

"This is a major leap for EII as we further diversify our portfolio and create fresh opportunities in local and regional markets. Dynergy Technologies will operate with specific focus on energy solutions for local communities, hotels and tower projects to begin with, after which it will expand its focus to include initiatives throughout the region. We expect the new entity to generate a turnover of AED 100 million within the first three years of operations."

Dynergy Technologies will draw on the technical know-how of ABB Industries to create market and project specific products and designs. Building on Emaar Industries & Investments' industrial manufacturing expertise, the new company will implement a structured and integrated operational program to create and develop new product lines and grow the existing lines including electrical switchboards and other power and automation products.

Mr. Naji Jreijiri, President of ABB Industries LLC and Head of Automation products in the Gulf region said: "ABB's expertise in providing Power and Automation products and solutions for the Industrial and Construction sector and EII's proven record in the Industrial development of the region are the right ingredients for the success of this new venture.

'Providing Dynergy Technologies with the license to manufacture LV and MV switchgear is in line with ABB's strategy to work through System Integrators and channel partners to target one of the most growing sectors in the region, a key initiative in our Middle East Growth strategy."

EII's announcement of the establishment of Dynergy Technologies follows a strategic business model for regional industrial expansion with confirmed success in seven previous ventures.
