  • PRESS RELEASE

Dubai-based e-TQM College, the region's first online e-learning educational institute specializing in Total Quality Management education, yesterday announced the launch of its Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) offering Professional Certificate and Diploma programs.

Offered in conjunction with the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) in the United Kingdom, which approved e-TQM College as a Chartered Quality Institute in January 2007, the programs offer rich and varied content, a flexible delivery method and instructors who are experienced practitioners in the field. The programs are designed to enhance students' career advancement opportunities or satisfy participants' interests in the subject.

Dr Salwa Al Naomi, Executive Director of Continuous Education, e-TQM College, said, "These academic programs further our goals of enhancing awareness of TQM principles in the region and spreading the quality message and its importance in improving productivity and efficiency in organisations across the Middle East."

The partnership enables e-TQM College to provide CQI approved virtual learning opportunities throughout the Arab world. The London-based CQI is a respected contributor to quality management policy discussions on both a UK and international level through its promotion of the quality management profession.

The CQI has offered professional qualifications since 1965, and its programs and examinations are subject to ongoing revisions and updates to ensure that the latest learnings in the field are reflected in its academic programs.

"The CQI programs at e-TQM College represent a revolutionary step forward for the region in terms of the knowledge in the quality management field that it will deliver through a flexible and convenient distance-learning platform," added Dr. Hesham Abou Magd, Certified Programs Leader, e-TQM College.

e-TQM College, the pioneering e-learning institution in the Middle East, was established in January 2002 and inaugurated by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in September 2002. The aim was to foster quality management knowledge through world-class e-learning programs among university graduates and private- and public-sector employees.

Through partnerships and affiliations with specialized bodies, the college has recorded a successful first four years and has earned accreditation by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
