The company has named Aptec Gulf as its distribution partner to cover UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. Mantrac IT Distribution will act as Nortel's distributor in Egypt, while Bright Star has been appointed to cover the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Along with its recently appointed distribution partners, Nortel will be embarking on a regional road show to educate resellers on its SMB Voice and data solution and also to highlight its SMB Partner programs which will differentiate its resellers and improve partner profitability. Nortel will continue the reseller recruitment program throughout the year and has an objective to recruit 30 SMB partners across the Middle East by the end of 2007.

"The SMB market is key component of Nortel's strategy and the company has always worked to recruit SMB resellers that are specialists in their fields. So far, we have been successful in addressing the specific needs of this important market and Nortel has a proven record in supporting its channels. We have launched specific partner programs, like "Building Blocks" to provide differentiated support because we believe that investing in the right channels enables us to deliver the true value of Nortel's solutions across the region," said Ramin Attari, vice president Middle East Nortel.

For nearly 20 years, Nortel has provided voice communication solutions to more than 15 million SMB employees in more than 80 countries, and its award-winning BCM50 sold more than 22,000 units globally during its first year of availability.

Nortel's SMB reseller road show kicks off in Dubai on the 12th March at The Al Murooj Rotana Hotel and is a joint event with Aptec Gulf. On 14th March, the road show continues at The Marriot Zamalek Hotel in Egypt with Mantrac IT Distribution.
