Walid Irshaid is appointed Chief Executive Officer of PTCL

PTCL has announced the appointment of Walid Irshaid, as Chief Executive Officer.

Walid graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Electronics Engineering from NED University in Pakistan and has been active in the telecoms sector in the Middle East & North Africa for more than 26 years.

Appointing Walid as the Chief Executive Officer of PTCL comes at a critical time when Etisalat and PTCL are preparing to expand the services that PTCL currently offers. These expanded services will offer more benefits for the customers in Pakistan, and this strategy is aligned with Etisalat's strategy of satisfying customer demands in all markets in which it operates.

Mr. Irshaid has previously worked with reputable operators including in Etisalat for 16 years, Investcom in Lebanon, Paltel in Palestine, and FLAG Telecom as President - Middle East & Africa. He has gained international standing as an ICT expert within the region.

At FLAG Telecom as President for the Middle East & Africa, Walid was responsible for 30 countries in the GCC, Levant, Africa, as well as Pakistan and Iran. Under his leadership, FLAG became recognized in the region as the premium provider of international connectivity services to telecom operators and services providers.

Throughout his career, Mr. Irshaid has led a multitude of multi-million dollar projects in both the public and private domain, covering both infrastructure as well as advanced value-added services.
