1679 entries compete at the inaugural Dubai Lynx

The organisers of the 1st Dubai Lynx, the advertising and communication awards honouring creative excellence across the Middle East and North Africa, announced that a total of 1679 entries from 15 countries will be competing this year.
Using the same state-of-the-art electronic voting systems used by judges at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival and at the Eurobest Awards to ensure neutrality and integrity, 25 leading international creatives from 17 different countries will convene in Dubai in the next few days making up the three different juries that will set the creative standards for the region. The Integrated jury will be composed of members from both the Traditional and Direct & Interactive juries.
"We are delighted to have such a strong start to these new awards. It's a great introduction and endorsement of the region's desire to establish the definitive standard for creative excellence", said Philip Thomas, CEO of the awards. "We will continue to build on this successful launch providing the region with annual first-class awards", continued Thomas.
The first crystal Dubai Lynx trophies will be presented to the winners who will be revealed and honoured at the inaugural Dubai Lynx Awards Ceremony held at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on March 19 2007.
