Arabian Business Magazine selects NBK as 'The Best Bank in Kuwait'

The National Bak of Kuwait (NBK) has been selected by the renowned 'Arabian Business' Magazine as the winner of its prestigious award and title 'The Best Bank in Kuwait'.

NBK's Deputy CEO, Isam Al Sager received on Monday 12th March the award trophy from Deputy Parliament Speaker, Dr. Mohamed Al Busairi and CEO of ITP Holding Inc., Waleed Akkawi at a special ceremony attended by some top governmental and business leaders as well as media representatives.

In a statement specially devoted to announce the awarding of the Arabian Business prizes for the year 2007, the Magazine said that adjudged by the leading role it plays in furthering the national economy, the National Bank of Kuwait has been unanimously selected by the Arabian Business Magazine's panel of judges to be the winner of Best Bank in Kuwait for 2007 award, adding that the criteria adopted for the evaluation of the nominated banks and the selection of the winner were based on international standards prevailing in the banking industry.

NBK has recently announced that it has achieved yet another successful year in 2006 with record net profits of KD 253 million (US$ 876 million), the highest ever in Kuwait. NBK's 2006 outstanding results also included an improvement in return on equity to 38.6% and return on average assts to 3.6%.
