Oman Air sponsors a seminar at the education college in Salalah

Oman Air is sponsoring a seminar on "Human Resources Management and Requirements" for Developing Higher Educational Institutions in the AGCC, which is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education represented by the Education College in Dhofar region during the period from 13 to 15 March, 2007.
Commenting on the occasion, Oman Air Corporate Communications and Media department said, "Sponsoring such important seminars is consistent with Oman Air's concept that education is the key to sustainable comprehensive development in general and human resources progress in particular. They added that , Oman Air believes that contribution of the private sector along with the concerned bodies of higher education plans, policies and strategies is very important for the growth of this vital sector. Competence in the Educational system is reflected by optimum utilization of human and monetary resources to achieve the highest social and economic gains for both individuals and society at large. This important seminar is trying to find ways and means to upgrade the performance of the higher education institutions in terms of human resources to actively participate in enhancing the productive enterprises in society. Corporate Communications and Media reiterated, that the students and teaching staff are the key factors in the enhancement of higher education as they assist in upgrading the human resources in Higher Education Institutions and also contribute directly in achieving its objectives.
Corporate Communications and Media added, Oman Air spares no effort in sponsoring any event that might contribute in serving society. In the past, it has sponsored many assemblies and scientific seminars in various faculties which aimed at preparing national cadres to shoulder all responsibilities in different stages besides contributing to the progress and prosperity of the nation. They commented that "that superiority of a nation is closely linked to its ability of keeping abreast with the rapid developments and the ability to apply the most advanced techniques. They emphasized the need that all society categories should cooperate for the development of human resources and receive the appropriate education and training to carry out their national duties. CC&M also added that Oman, over the past 36 years and through its development plans and most recently the Seventh Five-Year Development Plan which will cover the period from 2006 to 2010, aimed at promoting and raising the capacities and capabilities of the Omani citizens , achieving their aspirations and wishes , in addition to upgrading their living conditions . These plans were based on the preparation of studies, development programs and increase in the economic growth rates which undoubtedly contributed to the accomplishment of many notable and important achievements in the areas of human developments in Oman.
CC&M concluded, ambitious and well planned strategies that are being implemented by government of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, has been interpreted into significant progress regarding its global classification in the areas of human development. As a result, Oman occupied the 56th position in the global human development report for 2006 issued in South Africa on November 9, 2006, advancing 15 ranks compared with 2005 report. It also ranked 5th among the Arab and Gulf countries and is classified to be among the group of countries with high human development after it was within the group of countries with medium development.
