Dubai Customs are raising the human resources efficiency

Dubai Customs participates in UAE Career Exhibition 2007 organized in Dubai World Trade center from 13 - 15 March 2007.
The Human Resource Department at Dubai Customs pays a special attention to manpower which affects the efficiency of Customs productivity. Dubai customs seeks to train the employees on performing modern business processes, developing management leadership and qualifying competencies according to the organizational and administrative changes and in the framework of the continuous administrative development.
Omar Al Hamli, Director of the Human Resources, Administrative Services and Facilities at Dubai Customs said that Dubai customs participation aims at enabling UAE nationals of different qualifications to view a wide range of training and job opportunities.
"Dubai Customs launched several initiatives aiming at improving Human Resources skills starting with the International Computer Driving License Program (ICDL) and passing by the supervision training sessions and specialized inspection courses. Dubai Customs trained 972 out of 1209 employees representing 80% of the total customs staff," he added.
" The professional competencies development project currently being implemented by Dubai Customs has been divided into three categories representing Directors and Senior Management, new Managers and Middle Management which will include training sessions aiming to skill each category," he added.
"The Inspection capabilities Development Project, aims at raising inspectors` capabilities by providing expansive worldwide skill training sessions taking into consideration the important role played by Dubai Customs inspectors and their highly efficient efforts in fighting smuggling and counterfeiting on all ports of entries despite the increasing flow of goods and transactions caused by the rapid pace of economic development in Dubai," he maintained.
The organizers of UAE Career Exhibition 2007 announced that the area of the exhibition this year accounts for 19.000 sq meters attracting a group of key business communities including financial services, hospitality, tourism, oil and gas, training and education.
The exhibition hosts 179 government and semi government international and private companies. The exhibition visitors may take part in the free of charge specialty training, which would be useful for skilling young national talents through giving them the opportunity to communicate with professionals and training managers.
