e-TQM College announces the 2007 Pan Arab Media Quality Awards

e-TQM College is proud to announce, for the fourth year running, the 2007 Pan Arab Media Quality Awards.

The award, which is designed for media members throughout the Middle East region, is intended to promote members of the media to participate by submitting written articles about quality aspects both in business and life, increasing the awareness of quality concepts.

"The Pan Arab Media Quality Award is held in order to encourage the media of this region to discuss and write about Quality practices, a key requisite for modern day enterprises," said Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Vice President, e-TQM College. "The discussion of Quality is becoming more and more central to our everyday lives. We expect Quality in every facet of our daily routine, from the businesses we interact with, to service, to our surroundings. The media are focal to spreading this belief to everyone in society."

Last year close to 100 entries were received from English and Arabic media members across the region. The award received acclaim from its previous winners as well as the esteemed judging panel comprising quality management specialists from the Middle East Quality Association.

"I took part in the award because the Organisational Development category interested me; I was overjoyed to learn that my article on Quality Frameworks had won in the Best Research category." said Kavitha Rajasekhar, Managing Editor, Computer News Middle East. "I believe there is definite benefit to such an award and e-TQM College have put a lot of effort into the success of this event - I was especially surprised by the high calibre judging panel."

This year entries will be judged based on criteria laid out by the specialised judging panel and are central to achieving the objective of raising awareness in the Arab world about the need to adopt Quality practices across the enterprise.

e-TQM College, the institution responsible for the Media Quality Awards, is an extraordinary learning institution in Dubai that has adopted an e-learning platform for its academic and continuous development programmes in order to become the college of choice in the Arab world for Total Quality Management (TQM) and related knowledge requirements and to enable individual development and growth in a virtual learning environment.

The competition is open to Arabic and English print, radio and television journalists based all across the region. Entrants to the awards are asked to write on the subject of Total Quality Management and the integration of core quality concepts in order to achieve business goals, and the relevance of TQM to all industries on a local or global level. Or they may discuss the Quality Lifestyle placing importance on the role quality plays in day to day lifestyles and it's affects on businesses intrinsically and consumer extrinsically.

Entrants must submit their article by March 21st 2007.
