DWTC executives have worked hard to ensure a consistently high standard of services for visitors, exhibitors and business partners, providing support in every possible area from hospitality and conference organisation through to logistics and venue management.

Its expertise has been honed by its long-standing status as the operator of some of the region's leading event venues. A 2007 report from UFI, the international industry body, demonstrated that more than half of the available conference and exhibition space is located in the U.A.E. and more than one third in Dubai.

The report also makes clear that Dubai's market share will rise to 47 percent when it opens its major facility, Dubai Exhibition World, for a full calendar of events in 2010.

Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre explains: "A core part of our growth strategy is to aim to deliver the highest possible standard of service in every area of our operations. That way, partners can be sure of a world-class event, whether at our venues or off-site."

One area where DWTC is generating an international reputation is in hospitality. In 2007, DWTC's team of chefs won highest number of medals in the Emirates Salon Culinaire chefs contest, in addition to the overall award for Best Individual Organisation,

DWTC chef Lifeng Dong, the only participant to win three gold medals, was declared "Best Kitchen Artist in the UAE", in a competition involving over 1,000 cooks from throughout the region, many working in five-star hotels and restaurants.

Dong's skills will be on display at the DWTC exhibition stand at this year's GIBTM, preparing a range of intricate carvings to delight show visitors.

In addition, DWTC will be demonstrating the full extent of its service offering for the meetings, incentives and events industry at GIBTM, based on its over 25 years' experience of attracting global companies to the Middle East. Among the areas represented at GIBTM will be congress management, transport and logistics planning and venue operation.

Al Marri concludes: "GIBTM represents an excellent opportunity for us to meet industry professionals and discuss the future of the events market in the Middle East. As the market leader in the region, we believe that we offer a unique blend of experience, services and advanced facilities for the global industry, and hope to share that with a high level audience of industry colleagues."
