Etisalat University College signs agreement with ASGA Tech for providing courses in mobile phone application programming

Etisalat University College, the academic arm of Etisalat, recently signed an agreement with Egyptian company ASGA Tech, leaders in mobile application programs and Nokia's partner in training in the Middle East and Africa.
The agreement states that ASGA Tech will provide four training sessions annually, each containing a number of workshops in mobile phone application programming. The courses are exclusively provided via Etisalat University College for students from the college as well as other educational institutions, students and workers in the technology sector of the government.
Commenting on the agreement, Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, Manager Etisalat University College, said: "The agreement portrays Etisalat University College's determination to discover talented students who are able to produce new applications for mobile phones that coincide with the needs and requirements of users in the community."
He added: "Modern technology is continuously being developed and new applications are being created which can be leveraged for different uses. As an educational institution we are keen to serve the community in creating public awareness and training of students and employees in the technology sector to create innovative mobile phone applications in accordance with the community's needs."
Dr. Ali Al Qayedi, Deputy Head Computer Engineering and Training Courses Coordinator in Etisalat University College, said that these agreements are important. They will help enhance EUC's role in the training and academic sectors as well as in its support to society.
Majed Shaker, Chairman, ASGA Tech, said: "ASGA Tech aims at educating specialists in the technological sector to provide innovative and user friendly applications for mobile phones in the Arab region. We are optimistic that this agreement will contribute to achieving our goals of creating public awareness in mobile applications technologies in partnership with 'Etisalat University College' which is a prestigious educational institution providing academic engineering programs that are accredited locally and internationally, with various events and activities related to the engineering sector."
Etisalat University College recently held the graduation ceremony of 270 UAE national students. The degrees presented were Bachelor's of Engineering and Masters of Engineering through Scientific Research, which was introduced for the first time in the UAE.
