Dubai Lynx shortlist announced

The organisers of the first Dubai Lynx Awards, the new leading creative advertising competition for the Middle East and North Africa, announced today that of the 1679 entries submitted, a total of 388 entries have made it to the shortlist.

Of the 388 shortlisted entries, 187 Print are Print ads, 51 TV/Cinema, 59 Outdoor, 41 Direct, 24 Interactive, 18 Radio and 8 Integrated.

UAE leads with the most entries shortlisted (296) followed by Egypt (27), Lebanon (26) and Saudi Arabia (17).

Judging of the first Dubai Lynx Awards is currently taking place in Dubai with 25 top creatives from around the world casting their votes. Jonathan Harries, Worldwide Chief Creative Officer, Draft FCB Group, USA heads the TV/Cinema, Print, Outdoor and Radio jury and Fred Koblinger, CEO, PKP Proximity & BBDO Holding Austria is chairing the Direct and Interactive Jury as well as the Integrated jury.

The winners, including the Dubai Lynx 2007 Agency of the Year, will be revealed at the awards ceremony that takes place on Monday evening, 19th of March at the Dubai Media City amphitheatre.

The 1st Dubai Lynx - The Middle East and North Africa Advertising Awards for Creative Excellence - will be held 19 March 2007 in Dubai, UAE.

Presented by Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in association with the United Arab Emirates Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) and supported by Dubai Media City (DMC), The Dubai Lynx, will honour creative excellence in TV/Cinema, Print, Outdoor, Radio, Direct Marketing and Interactive advertising. High-profile international jurors will award the coveted Dubai Lynx trophy to establish the definitive standard for creative excellence in the Middle Eastern and North African regions. After the inaugural award in 2007, the Dubai Lynx will be run in association with a new event "The Dubai International Advertising Festival" which will commence in 2008. This event will bring to the region a series of high profile seminars and other initiatives aimed at giving creative inspiration, learning and networking opportunities to people working in the region.
