Qadi Saeed Al Murooshid announces organizing committee for FDI Dubai 2007

The organizers of FDI Dubai 2007, scheduled to be held in Dubai in October, today announced the constitution of the event organizing committee under the chairmanship of Qadi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director-General of DOHMS, General Coordinator of FDI Dubai 2007.

The appointment was made under a special order issued by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Minister of Finance and Industry and President, Department of Health and Medical Services.

The opening of FDI's office in Dubai, located in Healthcare City was also announced as well as the theme of the annual congress for year 2007 -"The dental diversity in the land of tomorrow".

Unveiling details about the formation of the Organizing Committee, Qadi Saeed Al Murooshid, said: "'FDI Dubai 2007 will be the single largest gathering of dental professionals and key representative of allied industries. The Organizing Committee will oversee and coordinate the discharge of the operational and execution aspects of the Congress, and will ensure the implementation is carried out as per the specifications and expectations."

He further added: "Over 20,000 delegates from the dental profession and allied industries from all over the world are expected to converge in Dubai for FDI Dubai 2007. The Annual Congress will not only showcase Dubai's abilities to host specialized world-class healthcare conferences and exhibitions but also catapult the Emirate as the sought-after destination for high-profile events of such magnitude."

The Organising Committee includes Dr. Ahmed Al Banna, Member, Higher Committee, Deputy Chairman of the Organising Committee, Chairman of Hospitality and Media Committee, FDI Dubai 2007, Abdul Salam Al Madani, Member of the Higher Committee and President of INDEX Holding and Representative of the FDI in MENA region, Aiman Al Madani, Member of Hospitality and Media Committee, FDI Dubai 2007, Abdulla Tayeb, General Manager, Exhibitions, Leasing and Operations, Dubai World Trade Centre, Awadh El Seghayer, Director of Dubai Convention Bureau, DTCM and Nada Al Qasimi, Assistant General Coordinator.

Dr Ahmed Al Banna outlined a comprehensive plan for delegates regarding air and ground transport, accommodation as well another plan to promote the event in various cities of the Region: "We have partnered with Emirates Airlines and 46 hotels in Dubai to offer special rates to delegates attending the Congress. The Road Transport Authority will run 30 VIP buses between the airport, various hotels and the convention centre. The Naturalisation and Residency Administration will also run a special work group to ensure visas for the participants."

He further added: "We are promoting FDI 2007 in the region having road shows in Asia & MENA covering India, Iran, Amman and major North African Capitals."

Outlining the details of the technical programs, Dr Tarek Khoury said: "The dental diversity in the land of tomorrow" is the theme of FDI Dubai 2007 which will feature speakers from around the world focusing on the latest scientific topics and technology in the dental industry. We are very proud to host this prestigious event in Dubai and welcome the professionals in the dental industry who will share their expertise in various workshops and forums on oral health promotion."

Announcing the opening of FDI's Dubai office Abdul Salam Al Madani said: "FDI's office in Healthcare City in Dubai will bring together the region's world of dentistry, and facilitate the exchange of information across all borders with the aim of optimal oral health for all people. The office will also play a key role in developing the region's dental practices.'

He added: "Our role also constitutes promoting Dubai 2007 worldwide. After Shenzhen and New York events, we also participated in ITB Berlin and we're shortly participating in a promotional event in Koln, Germany.'

The FDI Annual World Dental Congress and Exhibition 2007 will be held in the exciting city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (24 - 27 October) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
