The event was opened to all managers and seniors that felt the need for improving their emotional intelligence capabilities to further enhance their leadership skills.
Attending the event was HE Dr. Ali Bin Oboud, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Development Government Sector, and also brought together a number of executives, general managers, and department heads from organizations such as; Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Road and Traffic Authority - Dubai, Dubai Development Authority, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, University of Sharjah, Dubai Police, Dubai Government, and Etisalat.
Dr. Gamal El Din El Khazindar, Business Training Manager, Etisalat Academy, conducted the session which brought forward the importance of this modern application, mechanisms, and different methodologies used to enhance leadership. Also reviewed were experiences and expertise of leaders with emotional intelligence in major organizations and the importance of developing capabilities for compassionate leaders to enhance their ability to understand the emotions of colleagues.
Dr. Ali Bin Oboud pointed out that the ministry is striving to reach best mechanisms, applications, modern methodologies, and activate cooperation with all organizations and government sector to reach the vision of leadership, competitiveness, and institutional performance distinguished by the United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Doaa Fares, General Manager, Etisalat Academy, said: 'The Academy is always proud for bringing forward such training programs in excellence and leadership for the development of cadres from various business sectors, regionally and internationally, particularly in human resources. From this perspective comes our role as a training and educational pioneer in the field of building and developing competencies for different organizations in the United Arab Emirates, Gulf region, and Middle East.'
He also added: 'We are also organizing the 6th HR Conference and Exhibition, under the patronage of HE Eng Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Development Government Sector, which is scheduled to be held on April 4 and 5, 2007 titled 'Global Talent Management'.'
The 'Emotional Intelligence Leadership Excellence' is inline with other intensive training programs carried out by the Etisalat Academy. The Academy's latest training programs for cadres from the telecommunication industry include Etisalat Egypt, Etisalat Afghanistan, Mobily, QTel, Omantel, and Sudatel.
