Etisalat sponsors Fourth International Women's Cultural Forum

Etisalat announced its support for the Fourth International Women's Cultural Forum which is being held from April 4-5, 2007 in Dubai.

The forum is being held under the patronage of Dubai eGovernment, UAE Ministry of Labour and Diplomatic Ladies Association of Dubai and Northern Emirates.

Etisalat with its close ties and support for the community here in the UAE sees this event as a great opportunity to raise awareness on how ICT(Information and Communication Technologies) can have a positive impact on families and the wider community here in the UAE.

The increasingly technological nature of society means ICT has become one of the critical elements of the underlying infrastructure necessary for higher level community development. Through access to and effective use of ICT, individuals and communities have a greater opportunity for engagement with others, broadening their understanding and building links with each other.

According to Saoud Al Shamsi, Director-Sales, Enterprise Solutions,Etisalat, "Today, we are using technology more and more to keep in touch and get connected to our family here in the UAE and Etisalat has been a key facilitator in this process through a range of innovative fixed line, mobile and Internet services.

'Etisalat's has had great success in tailoring solutions to suit customer needs thereby elevating the UAE to one of the most connected nations in the world today with over 55% of the nation's population having access to the Internet and over 125% mobile penetration."
