DTCM to update Travel & Tourism Group on strategic plan

The first meeting of the Travel and Tourism Group for the year 2007 was held at the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) Head Office recently.

It was chaired by the DTCM Director General, Mr. Khalid A bin Sulayem, and attended by other DTCM officials, including Khalid bin Touq, DTCM Manager Licensing and Classification, and Ms. Afra Al Fahim, DTCM Manager Business Development.

Representatives of different government departments, travel and tour operators and the hospitality industry got together to brainstorm on different issues pertaining to the tourism industry.

Mr. bin Sulayem welcomed the new members of the group and thanked the 2006 group members for their contribution.

It was announced that a presentation on DTCM Strategic Plan will be made next month.

Members reported good business during the year 2006 and thereafter.

The meeting discussed issues related to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Road Tolls and salon cars. A separate meeting will be arranged to discuss their concerns.
