Sharjah announces its participation in The Moscow International Exhibition 'Travel and Tourism / MITT 2007'

In its third international participation listed on its schedule for this year, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), has announced its participation in The 13th Moscow International Exhibition (Travel and Tourism / MITT 2007), which will take place in Russia from the 21st to the 24th of March.
Director General of the SCTDA, H.E Mr. Mohamed A. Al Noman, will head the Sharjah delegation in what will be their 7th participation at this important international tourism event. To date, their involvement at this exhibition and other similar gatherings has greatly benefited Sharjah and has contributed immensely to it's the tourism sector, attracting greater amounts of visitors and improving the economic sector of the emirate in general.
Speaking on their involvement in the exhibition, Mr. Mohamed A. Al Noman said: "Our participation in the 13th Moscow International Exhibition 'Travel and Tourism / MITT 2007' is a result of the success that the exhibition has garnered since 1994. Reflecting the interest that there is between the Emirate of Sharjah and the Russian tourism market, this exhibition has played an important role in uniting the perspectives of those working in the tourism sector from various different countries.
"To date, Sharjah is considered as one of the most favorable cities preferred by Russians for tourism, where more than 170,000 Russian tourists have visited the Emirate during 2006.
These statistics also show that Russian tourists took the number one position as the highest group of visitors coming to the Emirate during this period". He added.
This year, SCTDA intend to showcase extraordinary and eye-catching designs that will display graphics of the city on a space of 80 square meters. Here they will distribute promotional materials featuring the main attractions of Sharjah, in addition to providing accurate news and information about the emirate in both English and Russian. There will also be authentic Arabian heritage activities presented to the visitors.
MITT is one of the five largest tourist exhibitions worldwide, with 2007 featuring approximately 2500 companies from more than 111 countries. The total space of the MITT exhibition will be approximately 27,000 sqm and is expected to be attended by more than 98,000 visitors.
