Mohammed Bin Rashid Est. launches 'Young Entrepreneur Competition' in Abu Dhabi

The event, scheduled for 17-19 April, has been organized in coordination with the Abu Dhabi Education Zone and Al Marina Mall, where it will be hosted.

The decision to extend the competition to Abu Dhabi follows the initiative's remarkable success during its two previous rounds in Dubai.

Aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship among high school students, the annual contest seeks to promote the development and management of private businesses among young adults.

Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of SME, thanked Abu Dhabi Education Zone and Al Marina Mall for their cooperation in staging the contest.

"We feel privileged to take the competition to Abu Dhabi and hope to see it expand to other emirates soon. The event is a strategic initiative through which we aim to enhance the new generations' awareness of entrepreneurship. It involves students in business management processes and gives them an insight into basic market requirements," Al Janahi said.

The winning project will be awarded at the "Mohammed bin Rashid Awards for Young Business Leaders" ceremony. Prizes will also be given in the following categories: Best Cultural Store Award, Most Profitable Store Award and Best Marketing Award, amongst others.

The Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders is committed to promoting and enhancing entrepreneurial skills across the UAE.

The Establishment follows a multi-tier strategy to disseminate knowledge about entrepreneurship as a rewarding alternative to the traditional government jobs hunt. It also seeks to raise the UAE nationals' contribution to the local economy through encouraging them to launch and sustain their own private businesses.
