A delegation from Hong Kong Federation visits Effat College

Effat College is proud to announce that it hosted a delegation from the 'Hong Kong Federation of Women' (HKFW) on campus on March 17, 2007.

This visit was under the patronage of HRH Princess Loulwah Al-Faisal, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees & the General Supervisor of Effat College. The delegation included twenty-three prominent community leaders from Hong Kong that come from diverse educational and career backgrounds like Business, Law, Real Estate, Insurance, Interior Design, and Polar Research. The delegation leader, Ms.Pancy Ho, explained that the objective of this visit was to learn more about Saudi Arabia and meet local executives to explore opportunities for business partnerships.

The Dean of Effat College, Dr.Haifa Jamal Al-Lail, Effat College Advisory Board Member, Dr. Ghazi Binzagr, Vice-Deans, and students welcomed the delegation members and inaugurated the visit by giving a brief summary about Effat College. Mrs. Peggy Lam (HKFW) Chairperson stated that the federation includes 140 women that specialize in various fields. Then delegation members shared their precious professional experiences with the audience. These accounts outlined the members' innate commitment to develop their communities through charity work in several areas like Aids, Autism, and immigrant training.

Munira Al-Saud a student in the Business Administration department at Effat College asked Dr.Rebecca Lee, a polar researcher and active environmentalist, on the optimal ways to raise awareness about environmental issues in Jeddah.Dr.Lee advised her to search environmental websites for information. Dean Haifa questioned the delegation on the reasons for China's spectacular economic success and growth. Ms.Pancy Ho replied that China's open-door policy coupled with the Chinese culture that reveres the family is responsible for this success. According to Ms.Ho. "Chinese society is guided by harmony, unity, and equality."

Mrs. Peggy Lam thanked HRH Princess Loulwah and Dean Haifa for their warm generosity and
presented HRH Princess Loulwah and Dean Haifa with plagues and gifts. Finally, the delegation members then toured the campus facilities.
