Sahara Centre gears itself for a February 20th, 2002 grand opening

The company further said that, with less than four months to go before its formal opening, several key tenants, including anchors, Debenhams, Adventureland and Century Cinemas, have begun full-swing construction work at the mall.

Mr. Raymond Casey, General Manager, Sahara Centre, said that there was a high level of excitement surrounding the launch of Sahara Centre among merchants and the public at large.

"This start date was chosen to coincide with the launch of our many fashion retailers' spring and summer collections. Our key anchor store merchants' construction programmes are now fully underway - targeted to be open and ready to delight customers on February 20th," he added.

Debenhams, one of the UK's leading department stores, forms part of the AlShaya Group, and will feature international brands including Liz Claiborne, Oasis, Evans and Laura Ashley. Meanwhile, Century Cinemas, which will operate the largest cinema complex in the UAE, and Adventureland, the largest indoor entertainment complex in the Middle East, are the other key anchors in the mall.
