UAE, high water use

The UAE is edging towards the top of the global index for the highest water consumption per capita but the country's Minister for Environment and Water, Dr Mohammed Al Kindi, claims water conservation is a major priority. Al Kindi said the UAE has 114 water dams with a joint capacity of 118m cubic metres, while desalination plants for drinking and industrial use provide an annual supply of 950m cubic metres.
