Net Conference and Conventions meets with great success at GIBTM

Net Conference and Conventions, the Meetings industry specialist under Net Group provided complete ground-handling services for the event, organized by Reed Travel Exhibitions.

"NCC is one the first to have been established as a Professional Congress Organizer in Dubai. We have handled many prestigious programmes for high level international organizations, and the GIBTM is yet another landmark," commented Paddy Paul, Director of Net Group's dedicated business division for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibtions).

"The GIBTM has induced a positive trend for Incentives and Meetings industry in the Gulf," said Anwar Abu Monassar, General Manager, Net Group, Abu Dhabi. "This was the first-ever exhibition of its kind in Abu Dhabi, and it involved a great deal of meticulous planning and extensive arrangements," he added.

The GIBTM, held at the brand new Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre brought together over 200 hosted buyers from far and wide - including Europe, Egypt, the Indian subcontinent and the Far East. "We have a good base in the European market and we see fresh prospects in the Far East. We are also looking at strengthening our presence in the Middle East market," Paddy Paul remarked.

"The post-event familiarization trips in Abu Dhabi were of great interest to the participants. For most of the visitors it was their first time visit to Abu Dhabi and they were highly impressed with the destination," said Nour Moukadem, Manger, NCC.

Earlier this year, NCC had orgainsed the IAPCO-Dubai regional seminar for Professional Congress Organisers, sponsored by Dubai Convention Bureau.

Switzerland-based Universal Postal Union (UPU) Strategy Conference 2006 in Dubai, the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX 2006), and the Indian Property Show, Dubai are among the recent events handled by NCC.


Business extension

NCC already has events lined up for 2007 in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. In addition to Net Group head quarters-Dubai, it plans to extend the business into Qatar and Oman, where Net Group has its branch offices as well.
