Dubai Knowledge Village Human Resources and Training Club highlights HR challenges in oil and gas industry

The Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV) Human Resources and Training Breakfast Club, an exclusive grouping of the UAE's leading human development and training professionals, discussed the human resource challenges faced by the oil and gas industry at its first quarterly meeting held recently.
Sultan Al Hajji, Deputy General Manager, Total Abu Al Bukhoosh, and Shabir Hussain, Regional Learning Manager, Shell EP International were among those who led the discussions.
Sharing his insights into the constantly evolving oil and gas industry, Al Hajji highlighted the impact of factors such as new industry players, price crisis and mega mergers. In the context of such a business environment, he underlined the importance of training as an essential measure for progress to respond to new challenges.
Hussain emphasized on building competence through learning, while pointing out the importance of personal growth as the top Employee Value Proposition (EVP) for developing, inspiring and retaining talented personnel.
"The gathering was a valuable opportunity for HR representatives in the oil and gas industry to meet with providers of education and training at the Dubai Knowledge Village and share insights into common HR challenges faced by the industry today," said Hussain.
The Human Resources and Training Breakfast Club also seeks to facilitate interaction and partnerships between the corporate world and independent human resources and training practitioners in the region.
The meeting was part of Dubai Knowledge Village's objectives to host events that drive the growth of education and training sectors through sharing of knowledge and exchange of ideas.
