Etisalat highlights its comprehensive end to end ICT solutions expertise at CIO Strategies Middle East Forum

Etisalat today highlighted its comprehensive ICT solutions expertise on the first day of the CIO Strategies Forum held in Dubai.

The event which has been organized by Naseba ends tomorrow and aims to provide a link between CIOs and their corporations, offering a more comprehensive look into the world of strategic IT decisions. Etisalat is a key note sponsor of the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdulla Hashim, VP, Enterprise Solutions, Etisalat said,

"This conference comes at a critical time as IT plays a more strategic role in the enterprise in order to keep pace with the sweeping changes and economic growth and impetus that we see here in the UAE and across the region. The first day of the forum also witnessed a key note address from Saoud Al Shamsi, Director-Sales, Enterprise Solutions at Etisalat who spoke about the trends in outsourcing and Etisalat's capabilities in this space. Etisalat is leveraging its systems, applications integration and project management skills to provide outsourced voice , data services and eBusiness Infrastructure solutions to companies.

The increased need for outsourcing is borne out by an IDC analysis which states that outsourcing spend will reach approximately 23% of spending by 2010 up from 15 % of the total IT Services market in the UAE. The market for IT services is also expanding with the IT services market here in the UAE expected to grow rapidly through 2010. According to industry estimates, the UAE IT services market will grow from 2.2 billion (AED) in 2006 to 4.5 billion by 2010.

Saoud also commented on the popularity of managed services in the UAE with enterprises being open to service models because their IT infrastructures are becoming increasingly complex, necessitating highly trained IT specialists and contractors.
