Regional IT spend to hit $45bn

IT spend in the region will exceed $45bn by 2010, compared with $30bn in 2006, according to IDC data. Growth in the ICT sector in the Middle East and Africa is being fueled by economic liberalisation and privatisation in key sectors, high oil prices and the emergence of home and small and medium size businesses, according to a senior IDC official.
