His Highness Sheikh Mohammed toured Dubai Women's College accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education, Chancellor of Higher Colleges of Technology, and Dr. Howard Reed, Director of Dubai Women's College.

Received by hundreds of young Emirati women studying at Dubai Women's College, his highness and the delegates attended a special celebration at the college's new 1000-seat auditorium marking the official opening of DWC new facilities. They toured the college campus, visited its new fitness centre, which embraces a gymnasium, a swimming pool and play courts, and the Student Center where student-run businesses: Al Waha, Al Jawaha and ComCo, are based. DWC Student Center also embraces a Thalassemia Center, an Emirates Bank branch, Sharaf Travel Agency, a mosque, a DAMAS boutique and other services.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the delegates also attended a mass causality incident created by DWC paramedic students as part of their practical training. DWC students and staff volunteered to set up the mock incident.

Dubai Women's College is located in an impressive campus that opened in 1998 close to the heart of the city. The campus contains state-of-the-art classrooms, workshops and laboratories, a fully equipped gymnasium, expansive grounds, a career centre, and a host of learning and activities centers focused towards providing the best possible education for students.

DWC, one of 12 (14) Higher Colleges of Technology, offers programs that range from one-year diplomas to master degrees where more than 2300 students are currently enrolled.
