RTA invests AED 170 million to implement Landscape projects

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has allotted AED 170 million to invest in implementing landscaping projects in Dubai roads.

This aims at increasing the green areas in the streets of the Emirate to add comfort and aesthetics for road users while driving. This was stated by Eng. Maitha Mohammad Bin Adai the CEO of Traffic and Roads agency at a press conference held at RTA.

Eng. Maitha said that the landscaping of Dubai roads is one of the RTA's priorities as it concerns the aesthetics of the roads. As of now about twenty-six projects are in progress, six of them in the implementation phase at intersection 5 at Shaikh Zayed road, Ras AL Khour crossing, the Academic City, the Meena (Port), and the floating bridge roads, while another 20 projects are in the designing phases.

She said that the agricultural areas in the existing projects amounted about 1.134 million square meters, while the area of agricultural projects in the designing amounted about 4.1 million square meters.
