The region's most technologically advanced building 'The Pad' will be launched at the 3rd International Property Show to be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre April 3-5, 2007.

The pioneering developer will also give visitors a sneak preview of their upcoming project, an architectural master-piece designed by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid. The unique project, which will be one of the most iconic and sought after addresses in the world, is to be revealed at the British Museum in the UK capital, London later the same month.

'The Pad', considered the first cybertecture apartment building in the world, was first revealed during the Cityscape Dubai 2006 and generated huge interest and excitement from around the world. The futuristic tower was designed by James Law, James Law Cybertecture International, a global consultancy based in Hong Kong and specializing in the design and strategy formation of Cybertecture Projects.

Cybertecture incorporates the latest technology to give the space the intelligence needed to react, interact and communicate with its users.

Structures that incorporate Cybertecture within their design aim to enhance and improve quality of life by harnessing the power of technology.

"In commissioning James Law we wanted to create something for the future, a timeless, interactive, intelligent building that pushes the boundaries of architectural design and revolutionizes the way people interact with their surroundings. The Pad is a signature property that reflects the company's philosophy and vision of creating the most distinct, innovative and technologically advanced properties in the region," said Mehdi Amjad, President & CEO of Omniyat Properties.

Claiming a strategic waterfront location the AED 500 million (US$136 million) residential tower is being built on the extension of Dubai's historic Creek in the Business Bay Development, which is accessible from the Sheikh Zayed Road between the first and second interchange with direct access to the largest shopping mall in the world, Dubai Mall. . It is set for completion in the 4th quarter of 2009.

The innovatively designed 24-storey residential tower will contain 231 intelligent apartments varying in sizes - ranging from studio to 1 & 2 bedroom apartments and varying sizes and types of lofts. Every Pad apartment will be intelligent and has its own Cybertecture that covers everything from communications, entertainment to shopping.

All apartments in The Pad, and the building itself, will integrate a plethora of technological features that will expand the boundaries of the home and make the entire building a reactive living space.

Technologies such as real-time projection feeds (iReality) where you can change your outside view by for example projecting the beauty of the Caribbean or view of the New York sky line onto your living windows; a feature that can transport you to any part of the world at a click of a button.

Bathrooms fitted with health monitoring equipment (iHealth), equipment that can measure and monitor your temperature, weight and blood pressure allowing for a healthy lifestyle and an ease of mind.

Devices provided to The Pad residence that can be given to family and friends that allow you to have dinner with loved ones from across the globe via a video conferencing link projected into your dinning room (iFamily & Friends).Rotating living and dinning rooms (iRotation) giving you 360 Degree views of Dubai and the Business Bay, reactive lighting that respond to incoming phone calls and the residents' mood (iAmbience) giving your home the individual touch that reflects your personality.

Many other features and facilities contribute to this exceptional tower. Some of the amenities will include a vibrant retail area with al fresco dining venues, a ground floor punctuated with shops, cafés and best of all a resident's club house- all of which will contribute to the life of Business Bay along the creek as a promenade-style entertainment strip.

The iClub on the podium of The Pad will feature a state-of-the-art gym, running track, half basketball court, a swimming pool fitted with an underwater audio system (iUnderwater concert), iDeck chairs that use ultrasonic speakers and a Media Jacuzzi equipped with waterproof touch-screens. The exclusive resident's club will also provide residents with their own unique meeting lounge, chill out lounge, party room, games room, library and an outdoor sunset terrace.

''Tilting at a 7-degree angle, The Pad is an amazing feat of engineering and design that truly embodies the vision of Omniyat Properties where "Living the Future" is realised. This totally integrated residential complex personifies 21st century living in everyway. Through its innovative use of technology and design The Pad will offer its inhabitants a unique lifestyle experience that no other project in Dubai or the region can offer," Amjad added.

Also cleverly displayed at DIPS will be the latest addition to the company's growing protfolio designed by Zaha Hadid. The tower will be built on a two Plot Island at Dubai's Business Bay district. Residents of this inspiring building will enjoy panoramic views of the picturesque bay on one side, and the centrepiece of Dubai, The Burj Dubai on the other.

"This work of art will fuse visionary aesthetics and functionality to create a unique world-class landmark that is set to change conventional thought on architectural design," Amjad said.

Zaha Hadid is an Iraqi born British citizen and one of the world's most respected and well known architects. She was chosen as the 2004 Laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Prize making her the first woman to be named Laureate since the founding of the award 26 years ago. During her career Zaha Hadid has held prestigious posts at some of the world's finest universities including Harvard, Yale, and many others. Some of her high profile works include ; the Mind Zone at the Millennium Dome, Greenwich, London, UK (1999), The Centre for Contemporary Arts, Rome (1999); the BMW Central Plant Building in Leipzig (2002) and the Contemporary Arts Centre, Cincinnati, US (2003).

"We are delighted to highlight our collaboration with a world renowned architect like Zaha Hadid who has produced many magnificent structures around the world. The Dubai International Property Show has become one of region's most highly anticipated and coveted industry exhibitions making it an ideal platform to give the world a glimpse of this work of genius that is poised to become an architectural landmark in Dubai and the region," Amjad ended.
Since its inception a little over a year ago, Omniyat Properties has successfully launched and sold four commercial towers and one residential project with a value of over AED 2.7 billion (US$ 733 million). Building on its momentum this figure is set to rise to AED 10 billion (US$ 2.75 billion) by the end of 2007, making the company one of the region's fastest growing property developers and a formidable player in one of the most exciting property hotspots in the world.
