The franchise industry in the Middle East is worth around $14bn and growing at 27% annually, Gulf News reported. Dubai is emerging as a regional hub, according to an industry expert cited by the daily. The local franchising industry for international food, automotive, electronics and fashion brands is dominated by a select group including the Al Tayer Group, Al Futtaim Group and MH Al Shaye'e Co.
