Gulftainer to expand its trucking fleet in Pakistan

A ceremony was held at the premises of Afzal Motors, Karachi, who are the Daewoo Truck agents in Pakistan with around 250 invited guests representing all elements of the road transport industry in and around Karachi.

Representatives of Afzal Motors and GTL-MTI senior management were at the ceremony to take delivery of the new Daewoo 6x4 V3T6F model and 340 HP trucks which will join the existing GTL-MTI fleet of 21 vehicles. The Daewoo trucks are manufactured at the Afzal Motors factory in Karachi to international standards of finish and quality, and are supplied with a comprehensive after sales service package.

'We are delighted to have signed the deal with Afzal Motors in Pakistan, which represents the first expansion of our new joint venture in the country. We have high hopes for the success of our venture in the future". Said Peter Richards, Gulftainer Director and General Manager.

Muhammad Tahi Javed, CEO Afzal Motors commented, "This is the biggest single order of vehicles to date in Pakistan and we are more than pleased to work with Gulftainer, who are a very reputable name in this field".

The new vehicles will be utilized by GTL-MTI predominantly on long haul operations within Pakistan serving the needs of their various major customers, complementing the present fleet of long haul and local haulage vehicles.
