The Traveller, glossy for Jordanian tourism

The Traveller is not an ordinary e-newsletter dealing just with company business like it is the case with other electronic publications but its aim is more ambitious to induce positive action in the travel field.

"We wanted to produce an e-newsletter that would project the image of Jordan as a travel destination for our international partners, clients and visitors who wish to know more about Jordan," says General Manager of the Petra Travel and Tourism Company Awni Kawar.

Company officials say the e-newsletter will be a regular feature from now on with both text and glossy travel pictures of different cities in Jordan to give the right image of what the country has to offer as a holiday destination.

"We want to use the best methods of technology to tell the world that Jordan is a great destination for a holiday because of the variety of products it offers for historical visits, cultural, religious, sea offering, eco-tourism, and as a MICE destination for holding business events in Jordan. All these issues and more, the Traveller has started to write on and will feature in its coming issues."

Very little is written about the Petra Tours except in passing and the management say the purpose of The Traveller is not to promote the company which has been in existence since 1965 but to identify travel spots in Jordan which travelers can relate to, enjoy reading about and come and visit.

"We are having this newsletter on our website www.petratours.com shortly, but meanwhile we aim to circulate this electronic publications through mass mailing to ensure that many people, especially from the international travel industry know about our new product, points out Kawar who is also Chairman of the Jordan Inbound Tourism Association which represents tour operators Jordan who specialize in bringing international tourists to Jordan.
