The "Islamic Finance News" Award Ceremony was held at the Sheraton Imperial in the capital of Islamic financial services in Asian, Malaysia, with the presence of major industry players.
Accepting the award on behalf of Solidarity, Al Wazzan commented:
"We are extremely honored for achieving the award of the world's best Takaful provider for the year 2006, exclusively and among major global Takaful providers. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who gave a hand in this success and specially our staff and partners in the kingdom of Bahrain, kingdom in Saudi Arabia, state of Qatar, Sultanate Oman, Jordan, Malaysia and Europe".
"Solidarity's achievements in the year 2006 are represented in the international expansion into key markets and a capital injection resulted in US$ 150 million in paid up and US$ 500 in authorized. The year 2007 will witness industry developments and global phenomenon growth where Solidarity plays a major role". Added Al Wazzan.
The leading and most comprehensive annual Poll for Best Islamic Banks for the year 2006 was organized by the Islamic Finance News where Solidarity was exclusively honored the World's Best Takaful Provider Award for 2006. With a total of 1,089 votes counted towards the final call for more than 31 contested categories. Islamic finance issuers, investors, non-banking financial intermediaries and Government bodies from around the world were invited to participate.
Bassel Hanbali, Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing, commented saying:" Solidarity was established in 2003, was honored the Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoom Award for the continual global contribution to the Islamic financial services industry in 2005 and now is classified as the World's Best Takaful Provider in 2006".
"It is a great honor to be part of this success and I pray God to always give us the will and commitment to deliver general and family Takaful products that comply with the guiding principles of Islamic Shari'ah across the globe," Hanbali added.
