While a host of factors come into play in any One-to-One exercise, the most critical, perhaps, is the use of innovative technology.
Research has shown that when a person's name is added to a printed page response rates go up by as much as 44%, when compared with a static document. When both a name and colour are employed, these response rates can increase by as much as 135%!
'Personalized printing is becoming a necessary tool for the industry to be able to offer its customers more targeted communications that have been proven to yield greater results. Xerox's leadership in the new Business of Printing steps provides real and measurable value addition,' said Chris Govier, Production Business Manager, Xerox Middle East and Africa. 'Cutting edge digital print technology deployed in innovative ways moves brands and products up - out of the marketplace to fend against a commodity business - and into the creation of new businesses, new markets and new possibilities. Xerox wide range of digital presses allows changes to collateral to be made in a matter of hours not days.'
A key advantage of digital printing compared to offset is the capability to personalize each piece in a print run. In recent years, personalization has grown more sophisticated, enabling full-page variability and incorporation of images as well as text. The commercial printing sector in the ME region is evolving to cater to such demands.
The new generation of Xerox digital presses, provide the right combination of high resolution colour image quality, fast processing and economical operation for profitable and affordable variable data printing (VDP) services. Global statistics indicate that the full-colour VDP market has and is experiencing a 250% growth between 2004 and 2007.
At Gulf Print 07 Xerox will be illustrating this fact by working closely with ME Printer - the official magazine of Gulf Print 2007 & a leading trade publication for the commercial print industry - by personalizing the front covers of the Gulf Print 2007 special issue delivered using Xerox digital print technology and solutions. This is in tandem with printing the Gulf Print show 'Daily Printer' Newsletter on deadline throughout the event to underline the speed and performance of Xerox solutions for short run full colour print jobs.
The personalized ME Printer cover will feature a medieval book-themed artwork front page with the recipient's first name and first initial embedded on the cover of the magazine. This was designed and printed using Xerox FreeFlow VI Suite software and Direct smile image fonts and printed on the Xerox flagship product, the iGen3® 110 Digital Production Press.
At Gulf Print 2007, Xerox will be showcasing for the first time in the region their full Digital Production Solutions range including the iGen3® Digital Production Press, Xerox Nuvera™ family with online CP Bourg Book Factory, Xerox wide-format printers and the DocuColor 5000 Entry Production Colour digital press There will also be a light production zone featuring the 4110 Enterprise Printing System and the DocuColor 250 Difital Printer & Scanner.
The stand will also feature an element of fun, with visitors able to have a photograph taken of them astride the Ducati Team Xerox Superbike and take this home in the form of a personalized momento of the show, serving as a further illustration of Xerox solutions delivering personalization on demand!
Xerox is further extending their visibility at the show through the sponsorship of the Media Centre where they will be providing journalists with the latest communications equipment to be able to file, fax or e-mail their stories out to their respective offices and helping them meet their tight deadlines and avoid the traffic so prevalent on the roads of Dubai these days.
Xerox illustrates the 'power of personalization' with live demos and customer workshops @ Gulf Print 2007
The Power of One-to-One is far more relevant today than it has ever been. It is the most potent weapon available in the fight for each consumer's mind.
