The channel is positioned as a dynamic, unconventional youth TV channel and, since its launch in 2005, has developed as the region's numero uno youth TV platform for today's increasingly diverse Arab youth.
Keeping its fingers on the pulse of generation youth, the channel engages in learning the University Event Calendars across UAE with a view to promote and support the youth initiated activities and programmes. The channel has supported a host of events like the career fair at the American University of Dubai in February, followed by the career fair at ACD in March, and the Global Day Festival at the American University of Sharjah in March, and several more activities are in the pipeline including the upcoming career fair at the Dubai Knowledge Village and Cultural festival in Zayed University.
Commenting on its unique and highly successful marketing and programming style, Manoj Mathew VP - Marketing & Corporate Communications Real Media - Zee Network said: 'We are actually trying to create a whole new way of relating to audiences i.e. the youth. While traditional media look at audiences as being passive, we look at our audiences as an integral part of our identity and agenda. We have initiated a highly innovative and interactive line-up of programming and liaison where there is a direct relationship between our team and our target audiences. From reality shows to talent shows we are constantly in touch with today's youth, through campus activities, youth programmes, focus groups, festivals and fairs. I believe this is the key to our success'.
Indeed, Zee Arabiya's recent programmes such as the reality show VJ Hunt, Show me the Money, Loud & Proud and My DV and Me, have all been highly interactive shows with a great deal of input from audiences in terms of New Media and recruitment of talent. The Summer Trainee Programme 2007 - a 2 month internship will be rolled out in mid-April giving the candidate a chance to gain practical knowledge and hands on experience.
The channel's presence on student campuses across the UAE is in line with its mission to reach out to the youth at the grassroots level. Commenting on this trend, Elias Mouawad, Director Special Projects of Real Media-Zee Network said: 'By participating in these events we want Zee Arabiya to forge even deeper links with its audience. We want to be pro-active and get into student social event calendars - from special clubs to events to career fairs - so that we are aware of the latest trends, concerns, issues, and fads that affect today's youth. This is essential if we want to be the voice of this dynamic generation'.
Zee Arabiya supports university initiatives and career fairs
Zee Arabiya, Real Media-Zee Network's premier youth TV channel, continued its spree of endorsement and support for youth programmes like Global Day Festival at the American University of Sharjah, Club initiatives by Universities, etc and student career fairs in UAE.
