Tariq Hilal Lootah, Secretary-General of the UAE Ministry of Federal National Council Affairs, receives Austrian Consul Mr. Robert Sereinig.
They reviewed the UAE's experience with electronic voting during the first elections to the Council in December 2006.

Mr. Lootah explained the mechanism and steps involved in the e-voting system. He also discussed the system's efficiency, ease of use, precision and speed, and its contribution to a fair and accurate election process. The system was a substantial improvement over traditional, complicated manual systems of voting, he added.

The e-voting system introduced in last year's elections is a measure of the comprehensive economic, social and technological development witnessed by the United Arab Emirates in recent years. It is also a hallmark of the UAE's evolution as a modern and progressive state since the creation of the Federation thirty five years ago.
