- PRESS RELEASE
CA, one of the world's largest IT management software companies, is supporting the Ted Beckham Easter Football Camp at the Jebel Ali International Center of Excellence as the main sponsor of the event.
Ted Beckham, father of the Real Madrid star David Beckham, will be coaching at the Easter Football Camp this week at the Jebel Ali International Center of Excellence in Dubai. The camp, taking place between April 1st and 5th, trains over 100 children and youngsters from around the United Arab Emirates. It is designed to promote football as a public sport and a socialising activity. Mr. Beckham had been actively involved in nurturing his son David's football career that propelled the English player into international stardom.
Sharing his excitement Ted Beckham said, "This has been a wonderful experience for me to coach the growing talent in this region and I thank the Jebel Ali Center of Excellence and CA who made this possible. I am very excited by people's response to the camp and their enthusiasm and hard work is a testament to their love for the game."
Speaking on the occasion Sabby Gill, Vice President and General Manager of CA's EMEA Eastern Markets said, "CA is a global company with a local commitment. We have a deep-rooted corporate tradition in supporting the development of children and young people globally. We see it as our mission to share our resources, technology and expertise worldwide to help them reach their fullest potential and achieve more."
Mick Leonard, Academy Director of the Jebel Ali Center of Excellence said, "It is very important to encourage sporting activities in children, and camps like this are great opportunities to cultivate interests as well as develop fine sporting skills. We would like to thank CA for supporting our endeavour and for making this unique experience possible for children of our community."
CA attaches great importance to its corporate social responsibility programmes in the region under the umbrella of its global CA Together initiatives. The company was one of the main supporters of the UAE Educational IT Challenge. It also donated over USD 60,000 to the relief activities following the Pakistan earthquake in 2005 and the rebuilding efforts in war torn Lebanon in 2006.
