Adel Al Shared, Director of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Leadership Development Programme, said: "Tourism is one of the main sectors contributing to Dubai's growth. However, an accelerated growth imposes challenges and pressures on all related sectors especially infrastructure. The industry leaders, therefore, need to continually chalk out relevant strategies to tackle such challenges."
He also said the Dubai Policy Watch was fortunate enough to draw the participation of three influential individuals who have shared their experiences on the existing challenges in public policy. This has given the participants a greater understanding of Dubai's most urgent issues.
Tarik Yousef, Dean of the Dubai School of Government, said:
"The Dubai School of Government is playing an exemplary role in supporting such events that highlight different aspects of Dubai and its future, focusing on leadership development and building human capabilities in government departments to face contemporary challenges and compete in a rapidly changing world."
HH Sheikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum also explained the role of Emirates Airlines and its development plans in leading the industry's progress and promoting Dubai's image.
HH Sheikh Ahmad Bin Saeed is well-known for his role in developing Emirates Group and transforming it to a renowned international brand in the aviation industry, serving more than 80 destinations around the world.
The Government Leaders Programme established the Dubai Policy Watch as a periodic event in collaboration with the Dubai School of Government. It offers a platform for discussing policies and encouraging the exchange of ideas to allow participants to gain an in-depth view of current policy issues that impact Dubai, while including them in the decision making process.
The first session of the Dubai Policy Watch series hosted Matar Al Tayer, CEO of Dubai Transport Authority, and the second session featured HE Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Federal National Council (FNC) Affairs and Head of the National Election Committee.
