ITP's Network Middle East Innovation Awards 2007 is an annual award that recognizes the best companies in the regional IT and networking industry. 17 awards were presented at the gala event, and while a team of expert judges selected 13 of the winners, the remaining were voted for by readers of Network Middle East magazine.

Essa Al Haddad, Chief Marketing Office of Etisalat, said: "As the first in the region to introduce BlackBerry, we are very proud to have been recognized with this award. It is an honor to be recognized for our efforts and achievements in developing the UAE's economy by providing new and better technologies. Being recognized by the industry and our peers will encourage us to work harder and towards higher standards."

Etisalat's BlackBerry is one of the first Mobile Email solutions, which has paved the way for the mobile email concept specifically and mobile data usage in general. It is convenient, easy to use and allows for full mobility. BlackBerry is part of Etisalat's plans to bring the best solutions to the UAE market. The BlackBerry solution is now seen as a necessity for both corporate and individual customers.

Eliot Beer, Editor of Network Middle East magazine said, "The awards are open to any advanced systems launched in the Middle East for the first time. Etisalat won for pioneering the market leading push email service 'BlackBerry' in the UAE and the region."

Etisalat plans to introduce more BlackBerry models including the Arabic version devices and attractive promotions for customers throughout 2007.
