- PRESS RELEASE
Xerox Emirates announced today that it has sold an iGen3 Digital Production Press, its flagship third-generation printer, to the Sharjah-based Recorder Printing & Publishing, an industry leader in the UAE.
The introduction of iGen3 into the commercial printing industry is seen as an important step towards the digitalization of publishing in the country, a development that will change the industry here. The iGen3's SmartSize technology and state-of-the-art imaging technology allows for unprecedented speed, quality and cost-effectiveness in jobs ranging from brochures to books, pamphlets to postcards, catalogues to direct marketing campaigns. The device makes high-quality colour printing widely available and affordable, even on short-run jobs.
"The iGen3 should prove invaluable to a company like Recorder, which provides a diverse range of printing and production services," said Belal El-Banna, Marketing Manager, Xerox Emirates. "The device is versatile, fast, reliable and requires very little in the way of operational labour. The iGen3 literally thinks for itself, making adjustments to ink and imaging for every individual sheet that passes through, with no effect on its work rate. The iGen3 will increase profitability and productivity for its users, and will provide added value to their clients. We are convinced that the machine will help usher in the age of digital printing here."
The iGen3 has a number of benefits, including high flexibility, enabling Print Solution Providers to satisfy customer demands, whilst eliminating the labour-intensive preparation phase, allowing for short run digital printing, a critical factor in bringing costs down. This New Business of Printing from Xerox also offers personalized printing through back-end CRM systems, web pages or even relevant call centre data.
Also, Digital Print Solution Providers can now take on jobs from a wide array of customers, further maximizing efficiency and productivity and thus improving profitability. Paper stocks can be mixed on the same run allowing for full collated books to be bound and delivered faster to clients. The iGen3 also allows for just-in-time printing and can mix colour with black & white on the final output.
"Our company has long prided itself on adopting the latest technological innovations, and you cannot get any more innovative than the iGen3," said Mathew George, Managing Director of Recorder Printing & Publishing. "The trouble-free, fully-automated imaging and paper handling the iGen3's SmartPress technology offers will save us time, effort and cost. This will allow us to focus even more on our own priority: Providing the best services available to our clients."
The iGen3 weighs some 3 tons and measures 30 feet in length. Unlike, a traditional offset press this high-end digital print solution combines ecological (97% of the machine's components are recyclable) and technical benefits of digital printing methods within the production press environment. The iGen3 is capable of producing 6,000 full colour A4 or 1,500 A3 4x4 colour impressions an hour, easily exceeding the output speed of more conventional presses.
