Chairman of the Public Transport Authority in Paris receives Al Tayer, acknowledges with the transportation system and security control

H.E Pierre Mungin, Chairman of the Public Transport in Paris met Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the accompanied delegation during his official visit to the French capital to get acquainted with the latest techniques in the field of public transport.

Number of senior officials in the Public Transport Authority in Paris were attended also the meeting, while the Public Transport Authority in Paris has about 45 thousand employees and drivers and laboures and managed all of public transport means in Paris and its suburbs, which has 14 metro lines, three lines of the suburban trains in addition to three tram lines and thousands of buses, and the operational budget of the public transport in Paris about AED 18 billion.

The RTA visit focused on Line No. 14 which is the latest line in Paris Metro network, with eight meters in length and includes eight stations including seven transfer stations and transmission between different lines.

HE Mattar Al Tayer and the accompanied delegation ride one of the line train, which all operate without a driver, and the number of trains operating on the main line are 21 trains carrying more than half a million passengers daily with an operational speeds of about 30 km per hour, and the maximum speed in some places to 80 km per hour.

After that the delegation visits the central control room of the line No. 14 and had a look at the techniques used in the control of trains operating without a driver, they also visited the automatic passenger transportation at Orly Airport in Paris which transporting about three million passengers annually, and around eight trains operates on this line accommodate for 116 passengers, and moving in maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour, while the total length of the line is eight kilometers, including three kilometers for underground tunnels, and the line linked between Orly airport and Anthony station while the passenger to transfer to trains of the suburban lines to reach to all areas in Paris.

At the end of the visit, H.E Al Tayer and the accompanied delegation also visits the security central control room, which control the security and safety of all trains, buses, trams, stations and facilities for the public transport in Paris, and its monitored by computers, closed-circuit television and wireless communication, in addition to more than one thousand security guard following Transport Authority and the coordination with the Police Operation Room also to be carried out through this room, which located in the same building for dealing with crimes and terrorist threats.

H.E Al Tayer thanked His Excellency Pierre Mungin President of the authority for the hospitality and warm reception given to the RTA delegation and provides all information.
