"We are exceptionally pleased to be gaining a strong foothold and increasing our momentum in the projector and AV market and complements our strong top three positions around the region's markets on all product lines,"
said Krishna Murthy, General Manager, Acer Computer Middle East Ltd.
While known for its production of desktop and notebook PCs, Acer's other product lines are clearly benefiting from its strong brand recognition in the Middle East.
The trust in the Acer brand is strongest in the region's notebook market where Acer is number one, and as Acer's mobile PCs increasingly make their way into the region's boardrooms, it seems that their projectors - linked to these notebooks for presentations - are destined to follow.
"To have leap-frogged into the top four in just a year shows a determination and commitment that both Acer has to the region and the strength of the Acer brand and customer service offering that companies and consumers in the Middle East have come to know and trust," added Murthy.
Put in the context of having overtaken long established players in the business such as Sony, Hitachi and Toshiba, Acer's growth is even more impressive. With recent IDC sources indicating that the company looks set to become the global number three player in the PC and electronics markets by the end of 2007, it is not such a leap to imagine that its projectors or other product lines will follow suit.
