The EZW senior officials, Mr Ibrahim Al Janahi, Senior Vice President Sales, Jafza and Hamad Al Hashemi, Managing Director, Techno Park, will undertake the trip following a meeting with the Governor during his visit to Dubai last week.
Mr. Hamad Al Hashemi said, 'We explored the possibilities of collaboration in the key fields of water desalination, and oil and gas, as well as ways to enhance the existing trade between Dubai and the state of Texas.'
The Middle East region is a pioneer in desalination and water technology. Of the more than 7,500 desalination plants in the world, 60 per cent are located in the Middle East.
Techno Park's strategic location also provides a distinct advantage to the global oil and gas industry, by virtue of the fact that close to 70 per cent of the world's crude oil reserves and 40 per cent of global gas reserves are located in the Arabian Gulf region.
Mr. Ibrahim Al Janahi added, 'Governor Perry sees a lot of potential for collaboration between Dubai and Texas, and Techno Park is ideally suited to act as a conduit for US technology transfer in the scientific field. We hope to take these discussions forward during our visit to Texas.'
