Emirates phone service delays

  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, April 09 - 2007 at 07:32

Emirates has delayed the launch of onboard mobile phone calls while European and US regulators look into approving the technology, reported Gulf News. AeroMobile, the firm which is developing the service for the Dubai based carrier, has so far received clearance from 30 countries but the technology needs the green light from both aviation and telecommunications regulators. Emirates says the service, originally slated for January, will be introduced 'this year'.
