  • PRESS RELEASE

As part of its strategy to build links with global educational institutions across the world, Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV), a TECOM Investments arm and member of Dubai Holding, is partnering with the Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education (NUFFIC).

Dubai Knowledge Village recently sponsored the NUFFIC annual conference in The Hague, held under the theme 'Internationalisation of Higher Education'. Leading educationists examined the results of the internationalisation of Dutch higher education and the mobility that enables students and academic staff to gain experience abroad.

Dr. J.H.C. Walenkamp, Director Knowledge and Innovation, NUFFIC said:

"Through global cooperation, we seek to create the conditions under which everyone in any country can shape his own individual development. International cooperation is the key, which requires people with a broader horizon, politically, geographically, culturally and historically. Such people, are the essential elements for the future, and the most important fruits of internationalisation."

Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director of Dubai Knowledge Village said: "Dubai Knowledge Village is keen to build ties with global educational organisations like NUFFIC to promote academic exchanges between the UAE and Europe. Our support for NUFFIC annual conference underscores this strategy.

"Academic exchanges with other regions are key to the overall development of our educational sector and increasing intercultural understanding."

NUFFIC, founded in 1952, is a non-profit, professional organisation based in The Hague, Netherlands. It aims to make education more accessible all over the world, especially in countries where educational infrastructure is lacking. It provides these countries with services and expertise through international cooperation in higher education. NUFFIC's motto is 'linking knowledge worldwide'.

NUFFIC works on behalf of various Dutch government departments and other public and private-sector organisations to administer academic cooperation programmes. It also seeks to promote international mobility of students and academic staff through scholarships and grants, and to attract students who are looking to study overseas from identified target countries.
