This card is being introduced for the first time across South Asia, Middle East & Africa.

Abdulhamid Saeed, FGB Chief Executive Officer said, "The World MasterCard card is the industry's only payment card to deliver the powerful combination of a no pre-set spending limit with an option to revolve. Extensive Customer Research has revealed that high net worth customers need the freedom to spend on a card with no pre-set limit. The FGB World MasterCard card facility combines the benefits of a premium credit card and a charge card, providing cardholders this freedom."

The research also revealed that the highest customer segment in the market drives spending; with the top 10% of the market accounting for 50% of the total spend. The FGB World MasterCard card is by invitation only and is designed to meet the needs of these high net worth customers.

"The FGB World MasterCard card provides exclusive features and benefits, unique customer experiences and personal concierge services which include entertainment and leisure benefits and legal, business and medical services. It will build on the existing premium customer base of our Bank." Saeed said.

Last month FGB launched three types of payment cards, Platinum MasterCard®, Gold MasterCard® and Standard MasterCard® cards meeting the needs of different customer segments.

"MasterCard International offers the most comprehensive range of payment solutions and is delighted to join with FGB to offer this unique program to a select group of consumers," said Mohamed Belarj, senior vice president and general manager, MasterCard International, Middle East and North Africa. "We are committed to providing the greatest convenience and range of services to MasterCard cardholders across the region."

"The World MasterCard card is an exclusive program with only 24 World MasterCard card programs launched in 12 countries across Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and United States," continued Belarj.

First Gulf Bank's continuous focus on providing differentiated products and services is evidence of the bank's commitment of "Putting the First into Banking".
