Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority aims to work with local, regional and international education partners to support the existing Integrated Circuit design centres and microelectronics R&D facilities in the free zone. It will also explore future opportunities with leading institutes and think tanks to promote the development of a knowledge-based economy in the region.
Dr. Eesa Bastaki, Director of Education and Technology, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, said:
'The public and private sectors throughout the Middle East are investing funds to develop state-of-the-art facilities that will support the growing demand for Higher Education. As the population of the region grows, we are also witnessing a growing emphasis on education related projects. In parallel to this, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority believes that technology education will play a significant role in further diversification of the economy.'
As part of its growth strategy, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority is partnering with Synopsys to develop training programmes for IC designers and engineers that will staff the newly formed Dubai Circuit Design Centre in DSO.
Started in 1984, GETEX has evolved from a student recruitment show, to a complete networking forum for the Education Industry. Student recruitment, training, education technology, academic alliances, cultural expression are showcased at the exhibition, as well as at a wide range of discussion forums, including workshops, seminars and conferences.
