Mohammed Obeid Al Mulla, Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee and CEO of the Public Transport Agency of RTA said: "The Public Transport Agency aims through organizing this event to throw light on the vital projects related to the public transport infrastructure services the RTA delivers in this significant sector including the development and expansion of the public bus fleet through raising the number of vehicles. A contract has been recently signed to purchase modern buses valued more than AED1.4 billion based on the most progressed international criteria; in addition to launching a campaign to encourage the public to use the public transport including the busses, which would cover 95% of Dubai's urban areas within the next two to three years for which we have taken practical steps to carry out this initiative through setting up air-conditioned bus stops all over Dubai that would make the daily trip more comfortable and exciting; the busses are connected by the GPS."

Al Mulla added that the conference is considered an excellent opportunity to shed light on the vital projects the RTA is executing and its most prominent strategic initiatives to expand and evolve those projects stemming from its mission to lay down the rules and statutes, develop integral solution of the roads, and the land and marine transport networks to be safe and smooth for their users and applying its vision in providing "safe and smooth transport for all."

The visit paid by the International Union of Public Transport delegation to Dubai took place long time enough prior to the launch of the conference, in order for the participating members to make all the arrangements required to travel to Dubai, coordinate to execute the proper planning for different events and activities of the (UITP), like the meetings, workshops, conferences and others, the effective organization of the event and provide the sufficient time to the (UITP) and the organizing company to stipulate the financial assessments related to the host and organizations of this conference.

Dubai's host of this significant event comes in harmony with the demographical growth and urban expansion happening in the Middles East and North Africa that resulted in new challenges arising from the public transport sector in the region, particularly in Dubai, as it represents a vibrating trade and economic center and an attraction point of investors and businesspersons from the region and the world; in addition to its large experience and successful track in this field that created an appropriate environment to host this event here, as Dubai became an international center that organizes conferences and exhibitions representing different economic, service, financial and other vital sectors.

RTA has formed the conference organizing committee headed by Mohammed Obeid Al Mulla, CEO of the Public Transport Agency, Abdul Majeed Al Khajaa, CEO of the Rail Agency as a Deputy Chairman, and the members: Dr. Aysha Al Busmait, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication Department, Abdul Aziz Malik, Director of School Bus Department, Yousef Jawad, Director of Administrative Services Department, Najeeb Al Zarooni, Director of Inter-Emirates Bus Department, Badrya Khalifa, Manager of Public Relations at Marketing and Corporate Communication Department and Deema Fouad Hussein, Events Manager at Marketing and Corporate Communication Department.
